Dr Doneley Graduated from the University of New South Wales (Sydney) in 2002 with degrees in Medicine and Surgery (for which he was awarded honours for academic merit by the University) as well as a degree in Medical Science.
Having been born and raised in Brisbane, he returned to Queensland where he undertook his advanced surgical training in Orthopaedic Surgery. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Orthopaedic Surgery in 2010.
Dr Doneley subsequently underwent extensive post-graduate fellowship training in the fields of hip and knee joint replacement surgery as well as arthroscopy and sports knee/reconstruction surgery throughout 2011 and 2012. He completed fellowships at the Gold Coast Centre for Bone and Joint Surgery and at the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre (Exeter, U.K.) where he focused exclusively on joint replacement surgery and was the Hip Research Fellow.
Dr Doneley is the past Director of Orthopaedics at The Queen Elizabeth II Hospital in Brisbane and remains on staff as VMO surgeon at this prestigious centre of excellence in orthopaedics. He has been in private practice in Brisbane since 2013.
Dr Doneley is a Fellow of both the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian Orthopaedic Association. He is a Certified Independent Medical Examiner also.
Free time is dedicated to spending precious moments with his three young children or tending to cattle on his small farm south of Brisbane. He is a keen sportsman who enjoys marathon running, triathlon, cycling and rowing.
